FROM THE PRESIDENT

ronWelcome to Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity. Please check us out to see what opportunities our organization has to offer your art department.

The process of affiliating with Kappa Pi consists of sending a petition to the International President. This petition must have letters of approval from an administrative officer and the chairman of the art department stating that there is no objection to an honorary fraternity on campus. A charter fee of $50.00 should accompany the petition as well as a current academic catalog.

Once the petition and appropriate information are received by the International President, it will be sent to the Executive Council. Two-thirds of the Executive Council must ratify the application. The charter will then be sent to the institution.

Students who are being inducted into a chapter pay $25.00 as an initiation fee for their first year. Successive years of membership are then $10.00 per year. Initiates receive a membership certificate, membership card, publications and a Kappa Pi pin. Graduating seniors receive an honor cord which is worn at graduation, thus giving graduates recognition for their honor society membership.

As an honorary fraternity, we require a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 and an overall art average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). In exchange for this high academic achievement, our fraternity offers competitive scholarships for its members. We offer a chance for art students to spend more time together reinforcing their common interests.

If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me or direct all correspondence to the address shown. I will send you a petition form, information sheet and copies of The Sketch Book and Sketch Pad publications. I hope that this information has inspired you to continue your investigation into our fraternity. I am looking forward to having your school on our roster.

Sincerely,

Ron Koehler

International President
